Regional financial group, which includes Banregio and HEY Banco, has experienced solid growth in credit demand in recent years. The company has exceeded its own expectations, marking a path to strengthen its expansion plan for the year 2025.
Manuel Rivero Zambrano, the general director of the group, revealed in an interview with EL FINANCIERO that in 2024 they opened 20 new branches and plan to inaugurate another 20 during this year. This growth reflects the effectiveness of the company's strategy. Rivero Zambrano noted that in 2024 credit demand grew by 14 percent, surpassing the records of previous years (12% in 2022 and 9% in 2021). The company's focus is on those who wish to build wealth.
Regarding competition from fintechs, Rivero Zambrano pointed out that HEY Banco does not compete by offering aggressive interest rates unless it is backed by a sustainable vision. He highlighted the significant growth in fundraising, which has strengthened the group's financial product offerings.
Banregio's growth plan continues to advance as planned. The expansion has included the opening of 20 branches in the last year, with another 20 planned for this year, consolidating a more solid operational structure. The entity has five distinct formats adaptable to different market segments, from buying and selling dollars to wealth management and SMEs.
Rivero Zambrano emphasized the importance of technological innovation in the group, mentioning the implementation of HEY Banco's technological model in Banregio as one of the most relevant milestones of 2024. This integration has improved the customer experience by providing a greater variety of products and services more effectively. The group aims to build long-term relationships with its clients, prioritizing financial stability and a wide range of services backed by security.
On the horizon, the group maintains its focus on the expansion and consolidation of its operations, upholding high standards of customer service and adapting to the changing needs of the market.
